I really like this. But I don't think you can be "more and more omniscient" as omniscient already means that you know everything. I especially like the idea of Jonas losing his youth as he learns.
ReplyDeleteI have to say I agree with josman, but I can't really tell why I think that children actually do not really have a childhood in the Giver's community - even before the Ceremony of Twelve. Everything seems so planned - this is not the way I observe children under 12 act. But I agree too your point that Jonas might lose something despite of these facts. At least that's the feeling that chapters 10 and 11 left behind with me as well.
